Laura is a big fan of Harry Potter. She read every book and saw every movie. That’s why her answer to our question wasn’t surprising. She asked us to take her to London, to the Harry Potter Museum and to the filming locations.

We were excited about the trip, who wouldn't be?

We at Magic Lamp are also fans of the books and the movies, so we were also excited to find out what the museum would be like. It turned out that the museum is the studio of Warner Bros. , where they filmed most of the scenes. Of course they filmed scenes all around England, for example in London and Oxford.

The plane took off at dawn on Sunday. Laura and her mother Mónika spent a night at the Hilton Budapest Hotel, courtesy of the Hilton Hotel Budapest’s management.

With Laura’s words the start was fantastic. Her mother Mónika wrote it on her Facebook account:
"The team of Hilton Budapest welcomed Laura before her big journey to London. We would like to thank them for the opportunity to spend the night in a beautiful hotel like this and for welcoming us so warmly. Laura said: Mom everybody knows me here? Yes, today everybody wants to please you, you are the special guest!"

A happy in-house report about Laura's stay at Hilton Budapest Hotel

And what was the journey like? Laura’s mother wrote of the experience:

"Laura had a huge dream. She wanted to go to London, see the sights, and visit the Harry Potter Museum. The genie of the Magic Lamp Foundation made Laura’s wish come true. Thank you to the foundation for organising a wonderful trip. Thank you to Éva Patzauer for creating a foundation that actually makes children’s wishes come true and makes them forget about the situation they are living in. They give them an experience of a lifetime.”

"It’s my own experience and the most beautiful sentence from my daughter: "Let’s go, it doesn’t hurt!" She also said: "How beautiful" and "So great". After she had climbed 257 stairs smiling and walked through the park she said it didn’t hurt. She looks very happy in the photos. I think the smiles are talking for themselves.
She could go to a studio where they filmed her favourite movie, which she grew up with. It was a huge experience. Thank you for Magic Lamp, the volunteers who helped organising the trip, to the supporters, and to everyone who had a part in making Laura’s wish come true."

Thank you to the management of Hilton Budapest Hotel for their warm welcome, the Canadian HollisWealth company for their support and to the students, parents and teachers of the American International School of Budapest for walking to raise money to make Laura’s dream come true.

Thank you to our volunteers who live in London, to Annamari, Kriszti and Brigitta for helping in the organisation and implementation. They gave a great joy to Laura.
